Poindexter's Tips for Saving Money on Your Move
Pre-Move Preparation Checklist
Have everything packed before our team arrives and remove all items from inside furniture.
Pack lamps and lampshades in boxes or transport them personally.
Seal all cardboard boxes with tape and secure lids on all plastic bins.
Remove shelves and clips from shelving units; place clips in a labeled plastic bag taped to the unit. (Or leave them for our team to handle.)
Pack small kitchen appliances or have our team professionally pack them for you.
Pack small pictures or allow our team to take care of packing them.
Notify us in advance if you anticipate a long walk or carry distance so we can plan for extra manpower or equipment.
Plan where our 26-foot moving truck or 53-foot trailer can park.
Reserve elevators ahead of time if needed and try to secure the elevator key for efficiency.
If your building management requires insurance certificates or other documents, let us know as soon as possible.
Avoid using small post office boxes; instead, use moving-grade boxes for quicker, safer loading. (Ask us about box delivery if needed!)
